I have been so busy the past couple weeks. Between Easter, and taking part in the services at our church, cell group, and a host of other activities, life has been flying past me without slowing down. Welcome to Spring in Alaska. At least that is what we thought until we got blasted with 4 inches of snow yesterday.
Last Friday, there was a HUMUNGAGANTIC eruption in our lives. First, a bit of background. One of previous jobs was working on an Air Force Base as what is known as a Air Terminal Operations Controller. Basically what this job entails is classified, and if I told you I would have to my people take you out. But since I don’t know you two readers, I can tell you
. I explain it basically like this. When a plane lands on the base (no fighter jet) the tower hand s the plane off to my office and we coordinate and handle the aircraft until it leaves the ground again. We unload/load the planes, deal with passengers including your typical security measures you encounter at the airport. The job is 24/7 and hard work. It is also very exciting upon occasion and we get to do stuff that not many folks in the world get a chance to do.
So last Friday, I emailed a friend that still works there. Long story short, By the end of the day, I had all but been offered a position. That came officially Monday, the same day I put my resignation in at Harley. Harley has been very good to me. They are in some ways like family. Granted, they are dysfunctional as most families are, but they have been kind and treated me well. My last day at Harley will be no later than the 18th of April. As the months have been going by, and Rachel and were looking for “more”. I prayed and all I heard, was, “be still and know that I am God”. I took peace in this… for months… to have this job pop up out of nowhere without me even looking. No one can tell me that God is not good, and His love endures forever!
All this said, I we have been taking poictures of Keira the pat few days and got some great shots. I will do my best to get those up this weekend.
Also, Rachel and I are (although Rachel officially) are now the Nursery Coordinators for our church along with one other lady. It is great to be back in the saddle.
